About the Character:
1) Nehru was born on 14th November 1889 at Allahabad in United Province.
2) Belonged to a community of Kashmiri Pandits. Father Motilal Nehru (1861-1931) and Mother, Swarooprani Thussu (1968-1938).
3) Joined Theosophical society formed by Annie Besant when he was 13.
4) Graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1910 with an Honours degree in Natural Science.
5) Went on to be trained in Law from the Inner Temple London.
6) Married Kamla Kaul Nehru on 8th February 1916.
7) Join Annie Besant’s Home Rule League in 1916.
8) Remained loyal to Gandhi even after the later called off the non co operation movement.
9) Hoisted India tricolor in 1929 demanding Independence for India.
10) Became the first Prime Minister of India, from 15th August 1947 till 27th May 1964.
