About Jhansi Rani:
1) Rani Lakshmi Bai was a one of the popular leaders of the Indian rebellion of 1857.
2) She was a courageous fighter who fought wars with the Britishers.
3) Rani Lakshmi Bai was born on 19th November 1828 in the town of Varanasi.
4) She was named as ‘Manikarnika Tambe’ or nicknamed as ‘Manu’.
5) Lakshmi Bai was educated at home and was more independent than others.
6) She was married to ‘Raja Gangadhar Rao’, the King of Jhansi in 1842.
7) She gave birth to a boy in 1851 and named him as ‘Damodar Rao’.
8) After death of the king, Britishers annexed Jhansi through doctrine of lapse method.
9) Lakshi Bai fought wars with the Britishers very bravely in order to save Jhansi.
10) Rani Lakshmi Bai died on 18th June 1858 while fighting war of revolt against British.
About Queen Chennamma:
1) Queen Chennamma was the first women freedom fighter for India’s independence.
2) Queen Chennamma fought against the British East India Company till her last breath.
3) Queen Chennamma was born on 23rd October 1778 in Belagavi district of Karnataka.
4) Chennamma was married to “Mallasarja Desai” the ruler of Kittur at the age of 15.
5) Unfortunately, Mallasarja Desai, the ruler of Kittur and Chennamma’s husband dies.
6) The responsibility and protection of Kittur came on the shoulders of Rani Chennamma.
7) After her husband’s death, queen Chennamma adopted ‘Shivalingappa’ in the year 1824.
8) The Doctrine of lapse was imposed on Kittur and later it was annexed by Mr. Thackeray.
9) Rani Chennamma along with other local people opposed this action of the Britishers.
10) Rani Chennamma died on 21st February 1829 while fighting against the Britishers.
